Ghostface detects
An AI face detector (SCRF/D-style neural network) scans every frame, then a tracker follows each face between frames — so a face stays blurred even when it turns, moves or is briefly hidden. Choose a profile: Accurate, Balanced or Fast.
Save or discard
Preview the result, then save the blurred version to your gallery as yourvideo_blurred.mp4 — or discard and try again. The original is never touched.
Why Ghostface is different
Truly private, not "privacy policy" private
Most blur apps upload your video to a server to process it. Ghostface's entire AI pipeline runs on your phone's own hardware. Your video never touches the internet — we couldn't see it even if we wanted to.
Tracking, not just detection
Detecting a face once isn't enough — a single missed frame shows the face again. Ghostface links detections across frames with a tracker, keeping consistent, flicker-free blurs on moving people.

FAQ
Is my video really never uploaded?
Yes, really. Ghostface has no server backend at all. Detection, tracking and blurring all run on your device. The app asks for no network access for processing, has no analytics, and sends nothing anywhere.
Why do I install an APK instead of using the Play Store?
Distribution is direct for now. Download the APK below, tap it, and allow "install from this source" when Android asks — that's it. It's the same package Android installs, just not via the Play Store.
What are the three profiles?
Accurate (default) uses the largest AI model and catches the most faces, including brief or angled ones. Balanced is the everyday middle ground. Fast is for long clips where speed matters most. All three use the same tracker.
Will it blur partially visible faces?
Yes — enable "Keep brief faces" in the app together with the Accurate profile, and short or partially visible faces get caught too.
Does it change my original file?
Never. Output is always a new file saved to your gallery as <name>_blurred, and you can discard the result before saving.
What Android version do I need?
A modern Android phone (Android 9+). It's been developed and tested on a Pixel 9a and runs comfortably on mid-range hardware.
